Chandler B. Hoffman, Psy.D.
Chandler Hoffman, Psy.D. received his undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland, College Park, and holds both a master’s and a doctorate degree in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. He has been a licensed clinical psychologist since 2000 and is a full member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals and the Alliance for Collaborative Professionals, East Bay. In 2005, Dr. Hoffman created Amity Consulting, a psychological consulting firm that seeks to prevent and lessen the negative effects of divorce and separation on families. He acts as a Divorce Coach or a Child Specialist in the collaborative divorce process.
Dr. Hoffman teaches classes on “Understanding Adolescents”, “Divorcing the right way” and leads groups for Kids Turn, an agency seeking to assist children and their parents adjust to divorce and family separation. Dr. Hoffman currently holds two positions within the Superior Court-Alameda County as a mediator in Juvenile and Family Court and as the coordinator of the Mental Health Hearing Program.
Dr. Hoffman sits on the Community Outreach Committee for Administrative Offices of the Court (AOC), and has been a faculty member at the AOC’s state-wide educational conferences. He has also been a guest lecturer at both Stanford University and San Francisco State University on the topic of Multiparty Mediation in the Family and Juvenile courts.
Dr. Hoffman launched his private practice, which he calls Amity Consulting, with the goal to provide services to individuals, parents and children going through divorce and other Family Law processes. He specializes in non-adversarial and collaborative processes that help clients accommodate to and manage the changes necessary. He also provides Co-parenting counseling, Mediation, Child Custody Consultation, divorce coaching, adult and child therapy, Parent Coordination and couples counseling to help his clients manage and learn new ways to resolve conflicts.
